THE BLOG
The next death-defying loop.
We talk a lot about how entrepreneurship is like a rollercoaster. When we say that to other entrepreneurs, we often get a smile and a nod because anyone who has started a business understands the ups and downs of the territory. It is great when things are up, but when things are down, you have a couple of choices regarding how you want to react. You can let the decent turn your stomach, or you can muster your resilience, keep your eyes looking forward, and feel confident that the next up is just around the corner. So the question becomes, how do you practice choosing resilience?
Recruit a new marketing plan.
Have you ever considered recruitment in your marketing plans? If not, you aren’t alone. But if you have employees or need employees, incorporating marketing into your recruitment planning is a great way to set yourself apart in the competitive environment.
Vive la revolution!
For the first time in many years, the balance of power is shifting from the employer to the employee. The reasons for this have been percolating for a while, but the effects are here to stay. Employers need to dig deeper than higher wages and gimmicky perks as reasons to attract and retain good talent. We are witnessing a revolution in how and why people work, and like many major shifts, the first adopters will rise to the top.
Working at not working.
Over the years, I’ve been part of many teams and companies who talk about maintaining work-life balance or protecting mental health at work. Still, to be honest, I have never seen this be an actual lived experience of employees. I think it’s far too common to demonstrate that we’re always “on,” checking in during vacations, working through pain or brain fog. Owning my own business is an opportunity for me to constantly challenge this status quo about work and productivity and what it means to be a balanced human.
Moving into the corner office.
We want to encourage women to aim high and shift the narrative to showcase how two women can create a successful business together. We consider ourselves so lucky to work with amazing female founders like the ones at RainStick Shower, Aangen, Spaceishare, Aesthetic Loft, Amy Hogan, CityMoguls, and Cleo Social. Did you know that only 11% of startups are female-founded?! Female entrepreneurs shouldn’t be a rarity, and in our business world, they are not!
Who’s keeping your ride on the tracks?
For many of our clients, and maybe you too, the need for an on-demand marketing team like us is not just about the big, flashy work like Strategy or Social Media Management. Sometimes, they need project management, budgeting, and keeping the moving pieces going in the right direction.
Are you telling a good story?
Content tells your audience a story, and storytelling forms the groundwork on which we build relationships with our audience. Story-based marketing triggers attention, motivates, and persuades — all the things we need to turn engagement into sales.
Let the good time roll right into 2022.
As we approach the end of the year and start to wind down to take some time with friends and family over the holidays, it is common to reflect on the year and think about plans for the new year ahead. Well, that is undoubtedly true for Michelle and me. And, OH, what a year 2021 has been for us.
