THE BLOG
‘Tis the season for giving & gifting!
It seems everyone is sharing their gift guide for the holidays. It’s our turn to share in the spirit of the season with a round-up of a few of the gifts on our giving list this year!
Grab yourself a snack & let’s talk about paid ads.
When a client is ready to put a budget into paid ads, we inevitably get asked the question, “google ads or Facebook ads, which is better?”. When you are a small business trying to scale, we understand that every penny counts, and it is crucial to make sure that money spent produces an ROI. The tricky part is that asking this question is like asking if sweet or salty snacks are better? The answer is, it depends! I know it's annoying right… Let’s break it down a bit more to hopefully demystify the best place to put your valuable ad dollars.
It’s time to get demanding.
On-demand marketing is about your business, not ours. It means that we design a way to be available and effective for what your business needs, any time you need it.
After years on both client and agency sides, we designed our on-demand model to meet what we saw as a real gap for business owners. We have based our model on a few fundamental principles, and they explain how we deliver on-demand service and why we believe, and are proving every day, that it’s valuable to our clients.
The ride to consulting.
What you may not know about me is that for two years I started an academic journey by going back to school to obtain an MBA. I started out with a specialization in sales leadership but decided to switch paths and move into a newly offered specialization called consultancy leadership, which seemed so much more relevant to the work we are doing at Method & Motion, yay! My first course for consultancy started last week and our weekly discussion post posed the question, why do you want to be a consultant? And, why would someone hire you? This felt like a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with my purpose and share a bit about my personal story.
The Secret To Your Best Marketing Strategy: Care.
I encourage you and your team to think about the causes, issues and charities you care about and be thoughtful about how this shows up in your content marketing plans and if there’s an opportunity how it comes to life in your sales plans. Consider how you will support these causes, and I challenge you to make your commitment a part of your culture, not just something you do on a particular day of the year.
Living in the zone of our superpowers.
I also had an opportunity to connect with the wonderful group at CityMoguls and we discussed challenges we face as entrepreneurs. For me, it was finding the time to do all of the things I want to work on for the business while actively doing the work needed in the business while having a life outside of the business, isn’t that always the way? I was quickly reminded by one of the members that this is when it is important to lean into your strengths… well wouldn’t you know it, this is exactly what we preach in our free pdf about leadership... because it's true!
Ride Buddies.
This past month has brought about some new working relationships with partner agencies, including the socially-savvy Cleo and the creatively inspired team at Big Red Oak. There is a lot for us to learn from each other and we’re truly demonstrating how brilliant collaboration can be for our clients.
Why Leadership?
What I often see in the start-up and entrepreneurial space is people suddenly finding themselves in a leadership role and, to no fault of their own, feeling like a fish out of water. They want to be a great leader, and probably have some good examples to glean from, but being a first-time leader can be daunting and frankly a bit scary, especially when you are the boss and don’t have your boss to go to for advice, eesh!
