Ride Buddies.
What I have loved about building Method & Motion with Sarah, is that we are both really committed to designing our business around work that we love doing and are really good at. We are curating our lane and believe that this serves us and our clients best. I am really proud of this approach.
Sarah and I are also really aligned on the values of our business, and one of those is being collaborative with our clients and their other agency partners.
Being client-side for many years, I learned from my agency partners at the time the value of having them work together collaboratively, building off of each other’s ideas, and together making our go-to-market strategies effective and responsive. Playing nice in the sandbox has always been very important to Sarah and me and so it’s a non-negotiable at Method & Motion.
This past month has brought about some new working relationships with partner agencies, including the socially savvy Cleo and the creatively inspired team at Big Red Oak. There is a lot for us to learn from each other and we’re truly demonstrating how brilliant collaboration can be for our clients.
On the flip side, there have been moments when we have felt siloed and left out of relationships with other client partners. We’ve reflected on how icky this feels. By nature, we’re not protective of our work or precious about our services and rate cards. Rather, we are proud of our work and hope that our clients will trust and challenge us.
Sure, there are sometimes bumps when working with agencies whose services may overlap or compete with ours. But in these moments, I am grounded in our commitment to collaborate. This is the type of agency we are building because it’s not just being proud of the work itself that’s important to us, it’s also how we do the work. The process matters. Relationships matter. We believe in enjoying the ride, and what better way to do that than with some great ride buddies?!
If you want to be buddies, we would love to hear from you! Say hey: hello@methodandmotion.ca
